We all need a little bit of TLC sometimes, especially in our hectic modern age. It might be a massage, or a little bit of a beauty touch up… But it’s not always easy to find the time for treatments in amongst our 9-5 and out commute. Enter Urban Massage, now known as Urban.co.
Urban.co is a mobile wellness service, aiming to bring the r&r to you, not the other way round. But what does that mean, and how does it work? Is this the best mobile massage and wellness app, and crucially, is it any good?
How does Mobile Wellness work?
The theory behind Urban.co is that services such as beauty treatments and massage should be available wherever you are, not necessarily in a specified location. Say you’re on a business trip and you’ve really been meaning to get your hair and nails done – you could use Urban.co to send a beautician and hairdresser to your hotel room.
Or, you had a triathlon on the weekend and you’re feeling the twinges at work today. A physiotherapist or masseur could visit you during your lunch break, or at your home after work.
As you see, there are plenty of opportunities when mobile wellness could be a great idea (I bet you’re thinking of a few of them right now).
But it’s not all about just having a sports massage at home, or a haircut in the office.
What services does Urban provide?
For private mobile wellness services, Urban Massage offer their services mostly in London, but with some services also available in Manchester, Birmingham and even in Paris.
Currently, massage is the service offered in all of the locations, with most of the remaining packages limited to London. Keep an eye out though, as they’re likely to roll them out nationwide (and in more cities) soon.
The services offered by Urban.co currently include:
- Hair cutting and styling
- Hair removal
- Lashes and nails
For those looking for a special Valentine’s Day treat for their loved one, Urban.co could be a unique option. There is also a Valentine’s Day package, available in London only, offering beauty packages including gel nails, hair removal, lash lift and manicure.
Urban also offers a corporate service, where you can book wellbeing services for your business such as yoga, mindfulness and massage.
All treatments provided by Urban.co are from qualified professionals who have been vetted by Urban. In fact, they claim to meet and verify each of their practitioners before they start working. Practitioners will bring all their own equipment to you, so you don’t need to worry about having the right kind of massage table or your choice of nail varnish.
As with most on demand services, you can view reviews/feedback of Urban.co practitioners and leave your own feedback too. Of course, you’ll probably be asking…
Is Urban Massage any good?
On-demand beauty and massage is a great idea, and the Urban.co business model is very interesting. Much like other on-demand services, it gives people an option to be their own boss and provide their services via an app and be their own boss.
But is it any good for the user? Urban Massage currently has a 4.5 star rating on TrustPilot from 874 reviews, giving it an ‘Excellent’ rating. The majority of reviews say that service is professional and of a high quality.
You can use Urban.co either via their webpage, or by downloading their app, available on both iOS and Android. If you’ve used apps like Treatwell, you might be intrigued to find out if Urban.co is the best massage app…
The best way to find out if Urban.co is a great service is to try it for yourself. If you’re looking for some mobile wellness, a sports massage at home, or a hair and beauty treatment for your big day, try Urban.co.
