Using Virtuo, the idea is that you completely cut out the need for a car hire agency, with the entire process done through an app. But how does this work in reality? And could Virtuo really be as good as it sounds?
How does Virtuo work?
If you’ve ever hired a car, you’ll know that the entire process is a little bit stuck in the past. Strict pick up and drop off times, limited mileage, huge deposits and long waiting times in unpleasant offices all scream 20th century to most of us.
Car hire is beginning to come into the digital era, and Virtuo are a London based car hire app that could change how you rent cars.
For a start, you download the Virtuo app, or head to their website, and find a car at your convenience. Currently they are available in major cities including London, Manchester and Edinburgh in the UK, and Barcelona, Paris and Brussels (among many others) in Europe.
You then choose your location, desired dates and pick up times and Virtuo then presents you with a choice of cars, which are currently all Mercedes A-Class or GLA Once you’ve chosen your car (and added any extras), you can then pick up your car using the details sent to you. No need to go into any office!
In fact, your Virtuo car rental is unlocked via the app, and you can also keep track of features such as fuel usage and mileage too…
One fact about Virtuo is that they are aiming for luxury car rental, so those looking for cheap car rental should probably look elsewhere. However, as we mentioned, all of the Virtuo cars are Mercedes A-Class or GLA models, so if you want a premium car at a decent price then you’ll be more than happy. How does it work with insurance? By default, the excess is £1,200 (€1000), but you can apply additional cover, by the day, which will take your premium down. At the moment, this is £13 per day for the plus level, with an excess of £350, or £25 a day to give you fully comprehensive cover wih n excess.
Some other nice features are that you can adjust your expected mileage, add baby seats or child booster seats for a fee, or add an additional driver for free.
Business users may also be intrigued to hear that there is a business account option, currently only available in the UK, France and Belgium. Perfect for managing a team of people who may need car hire, or for keeping a track on expenses.
So, could this be the end for traditional car hire? If you’re looking for a premium rental car in London, or mainland Europe, we strongly recommend checking out Virtuo. Reports from users are encouraging, with the app getting a very high rating and positive feedback. Check out Virtuo by signing up here and get ***** off your first rental
